China National Workshop for International Nomenclature of Algae, Fungi and Plants and for Botanical Latin was held in Shenzhen

During 20 – 26 April 2014, the China National Workshop for International Nomenclature of Algae, Fungi and Plants and for Botanical Latin was held in Shenzhen in the auditorium of Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden. The workshop was organized by Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, supported by International Association of Plant Taxonomy and Permanent Nomenclature Committees. Trainers for the nomenclature sessions included Dr John McNeill, Dr. Sandra Knapp, Dr. Karol Marhold, Dr. Nicholas Turland, and Dr. Xian-Chun Zhang. Trainers for the Botanical Latin sessions included Prof. Xiang-Yun Zhu, Prof. Quan-Ru Liu, and Dr. Su Liu.

 Trainees were near 80 and came from over 30 institutions. This workshop was successful in promoting the application of the International Code of Nomenclature in plant related fields.
