How to get to the venue

1. From the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport

1) Taxi: It takes around 40 minutes by taxi from the airport to the venue.

2) Airport Express:
Line 9, Take bus 9 from the airport bus station and get off at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center station.
Line 330A, From Shenzhen Airport to Hualian Mansion, Change Metro Line 1 To Convention and Exhibition Center.

3) Metro: Take subway line 11 to Chegongmiao Station, change Line 1 to Convention and Exhibition Center Station. Go out from Exit D and go on foot for 150 meters to the venue.

2. From Shenzhen Railway Station (Luohu Railway Station)

1) By taxi: It takes around 20 minutes by taxi from the station to the venue.

2) By subway: Take subway line 1 and get off at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center station. Get out the station from Exit D.

3. From Shenzhen North Railway Station

Take subway line 4 and get off at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center station. Get out from Exit D and go on foot for 150 meters to the venue.

4. From Hong Kong International Airport

It may be more convenient for many international travelers to reach Shenzhen through Hong Kong International Airport, then taking a bus, ferry or train to Shenzhen.  Details on transportation from Hong Kong to Shenzhen (and other ports on the mainland) are at http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/index.html.  Those traveling from Hong Kong to Shenzhen by bus or train are also required to pass through immigration both entering and leaving Hong Kong.  Those traveling by ferry from Hong Kong International Airport are not required to pass though immigration in Hong Kong – Go directly to the ferry terminal without exiting the airport.  Do not pass through immigration and customs in Hong Kong.  See details for ground transportation at

Everyone transferring from Hong Kong International Airport to Shenzhen has to pass through one of several ports of entry. Your choice depends on your arrival time and personal preference. Huanggang Port is open 24 hours, while the ports of Futian and Shenzhen Bay are open between 6:30 am and 12:00 pm.

After passing through immigration and customs, your route to the congress venue depends on your port of entry.

From Futian Port:  take subway line 4 (operating 6:36 am to 11:06 pm) to the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center station.  Exit the station from Exit D to enter the Congress venue.

From Huanggang Port:  take a taxi to the congress venue (about a 10 minute ride).

From Shenzhen Bay Port:  take a taxi to the congress venue (about a 25 minute ride).

5. From the Baiyun International Airport of Guangzhou

1) By taxi: It takes around 2.5 hours by taxi from the airport to the venue.2) By bus: Take the Airport Express Shuttle Bus to Shenzhen. The terminal of the bus is at Bagualing Station. Take a taxi from there to the venue.

Registration Center

The Registration Center of the IBC 2017 is located on the second floor of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, and it will be open throughout the duration of the Congress. It consists of several multi-functional sections including Information Center, Registration Desk, Tourist Service, and Receipt Printing Desk, etc.

Language

English is the official language for the IBC 2017.Although Chinese is the official language in China,

many people in Shenzhen can speak English, and are happy to provide assistance in English.

Speakers

Speakers are allocated different amounts of time for their talks depending on the type of presentation that they are going to give.

Warm reminders for all speakers:

• All oral presentations will be managed by the Organizing Committee of the IBC 2017.

Presenters at IBC 2017 are kindly requested to go to the Speaker Ready Rooms (SRRs) to upload their presentation(s) to a protected server. The two SRRs are located at Camellia Hall (on the fifth floor) of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center and room Tang1(on the sixth floor) of the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel.

• Please note that under no circumstances will personal laptops be permitted.

• Speakers are kindly requested to visit the SRR and to submit their presentation at least 5 hours prior to your scheduled presentation. The SRRs are open from 8:30 to 18:00 during the Congress.

• MS-PowerPoint (*.ppt and *.pptx) presentations are preferred; they may include video(s) and/or audio(s). PDF-files without video(s) and audio(s) are also acceptable.

• Encrypted presentation files cannot be processed.

• Technicians and volunteers at the SRRs will assist you if required.

Poster Area

The poster area is located at the Hall 2 of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Traditional paper posters will be displayed according to theme throughout the Congress. E-posters can be easily accessed on the display screens placed in the poster area, or by using a smart phone with the Congress App.

Traditional Paper Poster Presentation

Traditional paper posters will be printed and posted by the local service group in Shenzhen without charge.

The poster session will take place at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center during lunch time (12:30-13:30) on July 25-28, 2017. Presenters will stand next to their posters to explain the contents of the poster and to answer questions regarding their research.

Congress Resolutions

If you wish to have your draft resolution(s) considered for presentation at the Closing Session, please submit a hard copy to the Registration Desk by July 27, 2017. Meanwhile, please send an electronic copy of your draft to [email protected]. All the submitted resolutions will be put together by the Resolution Committee and presented at the Closing Ceremony for ratification.

Information Center

The Information Center is located on the second floor of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Staff members and volunteers at the Information Center will be happy to provide assistance needed throughout the duration of the Congress. The contact information is provided as below:

Wi-Fi

To connect to Wi-Fi at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center:

Foreign delegates: After connecting to the "SZCEC (Free)" network at the Shenzhen

Convention & Exhibition Center, delegates can access the internet using their usernames and

passwords the same as the ones they used for Congress registration. Alternatively, Wi-Fi login

account name and password can be obtained from the volunteers at the Registration Center.

Chinese delegates: After connecting to the "SZCEC (Free)" network at the Shenzhen

Convention and Exhibition Center, delegates can access the internet using their usernames

and passwords the same as the ones they used for Congress registration. WeChat account and

SMS dynamic password based logins are also supported. Alternatively, Wi-Fi login account name and password can be obtained from the volunteers at the Registration Center.

To connect to Wi-Fi at the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel:

• Obtain a Wi-Fi login account and password from the Volunteer Center upon arrival at the

venue

• Switch on the Wi-Fi function on your terminal device

• Search for wireless networks and connect to the Sheraton-conference

• Open your internet browser

• Enter www.baidu.com in the address field and confirm

• Select ordinary verification

• Log in using your account number and password, and then you may access the internet

Congress Satchel

At the time of registration in Shenzhen, participants, who have completed registration, will be provided with a congress satchel.

Name Badges

Each registered participant will receive a name badge at the time of registration, and they are

required to wear the badge when they attend all scientific sessions and social events. A replacement can be made upon request at the registration desk if the name badge is misplaced. However, please kindly be informed that a replacement fee of 40.00 (RMB) will be charged.

Catering

Morning tea will be served at Hall 2 on the ground floor while afternoon tea will be available in the tea break areas located on the fifth floor of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center and in the foyer (on the sixth floor) of the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel. Please kindly be reminded that teas and refreshments are included in the registration.

Pre-ordered lunch boxes can be picked up from the designated area at basement 1 (downstairs of

the dining area at ground floor) of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Lunch is at your

own expense. A food court consisted of a number of vendors is located in the basement of the

Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center under the registration center. Please consult staff at the Information Desk for more details.

Dietary Requirements

If you have any special dietary requirements, please advise the Secretariat of the IBC 2017. When you are at any social events, please also inform the catering staff of your special requirement(s), and we will try our very best to make sure that your request is met.

First Aid

There are two First Aid rooms at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, with one located

closed to the Registration Desk (on the second floor) and the other one at the Lotus Hall (on the

fifth floor). You may ask any volunteer for help if you have trouble locating them. At the Sheraton

Shenzhen Futian Hotel, the First Aid room is located at Room Song 1 (on the sixth floor).

Luggage Storage

Luggage Storage Room is located at Hall 5 (on the second floor) at the Shenzhen Convention &

Exhibition Center, and it provides free storage service for participants.

Message Board

A message board is located at Hall 2 of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Messages/notices or posters from individuals, organizations, societies and research institutions can be placed on the message board.

Mobile Phones

Delegates are kindly requested to turn off their mobile phones when they are at all scientific

sessions to avoid disruption.

Photocopy and Fax

Participants can easily access photocopy and fax services at Room 212 & 214 (on the second floor) of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. A Business Center is located off the West lobby

(on the ground floor) of the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel, where photocopy and fax services are available.

Muslim Prayer Room

A Muslim prayer room is located in Lotus Hall(on the fifth floor) of the Shenzhen Convention &

Exhibition Center, and Room Qing of the Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel.

Local Visits

The Organizing Committee of the IBC 2017 has arranged five free local visits for registered

delegates during the congress. More information regarding local visits can be inquired at the Tourist Service located in the Registration Center, and pre-booking is strongly recommended. The visit meeting point is located at Gate 7 of Hall 2 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

Shuttle Bus

Shuttle bus service will be provided during the Congress. The routes are shown below. Detailed

information is available at the Registration Center.

Subway Exits to Congress Venues

If you are arriving at the main Congress venue by subway, please exit at the Convention & Exhibition Center Station by Exit D. Exit A2 should be taken if you are going to the second  Congress Venue (Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel).

Free Public Transportation Services for Congress Delegates

During the Congress (July 23 to 29, 2017), all registered delegates can enjoy free rides on the

subways and buses in Shenzhen.

• Free subway ride: delegates can get free ride by showing their name badge and taking the

special passageway (for elders, young and those eligible) for free ride.

• Free city bus ride: delegates can get free ride by showing their name badge to the bus driver.

Visit Hong Kong and Macau

It is very easy to visit Hong Kong and Macau from Shenzhen. However, if you are holding a single entry visa, please DO NOT travel to Hong Kong or Macau during your stay in Shenzhen since your visa does not grant you re-entry into Shenzhen from Hong Kong or Macau.

A Mobile Post Office

A Mobile Post Office is set up at Hall 2 of the Convention Center by Shenzhen Municipal Postal Administration, which provides a wide range of mail services including: (1) mailing of correspondence and packages, (2) display and sale of commemorative envelopes and postcards,

(3) showcase and sale of Chinese stamps, (4) free stamping with the commemorative postmark, (5) information Service is available between 8:00 and 18:00 from July 23 to 29, 2017.

Congress Press Center

The Congress Press Center is located at Hall 2 of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. It is open between 8:30 and 18:00 during the Congress. The Congress Press Center will provide working space for journalists and other social media workers.

Currency Exchange Service

The currency exchange center is located near Hall 4 on the ground floor of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Foreigners can obtain details concerning currency exchange on site. Currency exchange service is also available at the airport, ports of entry, banks, and currency exchange shops that are conveniently scattered on the streets of Shenzhen.

ATMS

ATMs are located off the foyer of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

Telecommunication Services

Shenzhen's essential telecom operators (China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom) will have an on-site service station at the Main Venue, and will provide consulting in English on related products, functions, plans and fees. They will also provide simple services, such as recharging a phone or adding credit.

About Shenzhen

Climate and Clothing

Shenzhen has a warm, monsoon-influenced, humid subtropical climate. From May to October, there is plenty of sunshine and rain. It is recommended that visitors bring suitable clothing (such as T-shirts and a light coat) and umbrellas. Because July is the hottest time of the year in Shenzhen, sun protection and care to prevent sunstroke are recommended during the congress. Tours

Shenzhen is a dynamic tourism city famous for modern city attractions and beautiful beaches, and it is also the home to the global headquarters of many successful high-tech Chinese companies. Detailed information about the tourist sites is available at the Tourist Service and most hotels in Shenzhen.

Shopping

Most shopping malls in Shenzhen are generally open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, and some stores

remain open until late in the evening on weekends and holidays. Major credit cards are accepted in all shopping malls and stores.

Tipping

Tipping is not customary in Shenzhen (nor in China in general), not for waiters, drivers or even hotel maids. If you wish to acknowledge exceptional service, tips are welcome.

Currency

The official currency in China is the Chinese Yuan (RMB). Current exchange rates can be obtained

from any bank or currency exchange shop. All major credit cards (UnionPay, VISA, and Master) are widely accepted in China.
